Signing into class for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 12

We are still waiting for the District to finalize setting up Canvas (the school's new Internet platform). Once they do that, we will be able to set up Webex meetings for each class for the first day and for the remaining days.

If for some reason, that does not happen before Wednesday, check here and I will be posting a Webex meeting invitation. Check here for that link. The school's main home page also may be listing the Webex links for the first day if Canvas is not operational as well.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon, Mr. Kerwin

DBQ activity due Friday, April 24

On Google Classroom in the Classwork section, I have posted a DBQ assignment for you that is due on Friday, April 24...after Break :)

Spring Break

Because next week (April 13-17) is Spring Break and there is no work to be due then, I have pushed back the deadline for the last three submissions on turnitin.com by one week. I also plan to have posted an assignment on DBQ soon, so keep checking...and enjoy Spring Break!

Video Overview of the 2020 Modified DBQ Rubric

In the Files and Links page, I have posted a video I created giving you an overview of the modified DBQ for this year. I will provide more assistance later on how to approach some of the different elements or points of the DBQ. Let me know if you have trouble accessing it.

Update and Reminders

Update: The College Board has just announced the format of the APUSH exam. Basically it will be an abbreviated Document-Based Question. Below this message you will find a copy of the new format. In the "Files and Links" page, I have posted the College Board's rubric for the modified DBQ. I am working on posting soon a presentation that will break down this new rubric for you.

Also, do not forget to submit your Unit II essay to turnitin.com by 9PM tonight. Make sure you pick one of the prompts from the handout I just posted online. You cannot pick a different prompt.

Below is the format. I will try to post more specific info on how to approach and study for this exam.
